PTK 103: Health, Environment and Sustainable Development Health is among the most fundamental services provided to citizens. Within the Malaysian context the geography, population dispersal, climate and demographic context, however, curtail sustainability of many solutions to providing high quality and coherent health care services. Out-migration has an impact on both the market (scattered population) and supply side (scarcity of qualified personnel) of these services. Of critical importance and value is the processes of establishing interregional networks for sharing expertise between the peripheral regions to document the challenges and develop innovative methodology (co-operative partnerships, Thecological solutions and training programs for isolated and scant health personnel) in order to improve the quality and coherence of healthcare services in the northern periphery
